The historic centre of San Gimignano has been recognized as a Unesco World Heritage Site, but above all it’s the place where I was born and grew up! It will be my pleasure to tell you how this small centre became an important hub of commercial exchange thanks to the Via Francigena, an old pilgrims’ way, and let you visit the streets, the squares and the principal monuments, telling you the history of the numerous towers and its typical products, but more than that I’ll lead you through the lanes and the smaller less crowded streets, among corners and panoramic points that usually are missed by the hurried tourist, and I’ll share with you some of the episodes in my family’s past and my childhood spent in this fascinating place.
