Among ancient ways, hamlets and castles
In the countryside of San Gimignano, one of the most beautiful and visited areas of Tuscany, a network of ancient paths has long connected the castle to the villages that developed outside its city walls. We will walk along sections of historic routes such as the Via Francigena or the Via del Sale (the Salt Way), discovering architectural gems rich in history, including ancient parish churches and former castles that once played a key role in bloody medieval battles. This land has a story to tell—a tale of rural traditions and how, through human toil, the landscape was shaped not only to be more productive but also to become a breathtaking work of art. Of course, we won’t miss out on stunning views of San Gimignano’s world-famous towers!
