With this tour I’ll lead you to discover a small jewel hidden in the countryside of Colle Val d’Elsa. We’ll go along a part of a tract of the Via Francigena which connects San Gimignano with Colle Val d’Elsa, and going through small villages and farms we’ll descend into the valley of a torrent which once fed an old mill, the ruins of which can still be seen hidden in the vegetation. One canal of this old mill today gives origin to one of the waterfalls which feed that which the local people call “the Blue Lagoon”, a small but spectacular stretch of water which is coloured green, blue and turquoise reflecting the colours of the wood that surrounds it.
